Boosting vocational professional training at ItWorldEdu 2019

ITworldEdu is a leading annual event in the field of technology in education and innovation held in Barcelona. This conference focuses on recognizing and sharing the latest trends in the education sector, highlighting innovative experiences of educational institutions, technological ecosystems and ICT-based methodologies that enrich professional teacher training and the teaching process to enhance quality education .
The 11th edition was held on May 16 and 17 in Barcelona. During this event, 8 innovation workshops were organized by educational centers for the teaching community.
Partnership with Escola Sopeña for teacher professional training
The Escola Sopeña of Barcelona presented its innovation project "common work guidelines - TeachersPRO - teacher competence development", highlighting organizational improvements through technology in education.
The teaching and management team of Escola Sopeña in Barcelona, represented by Anna Pallejà, Roger Lorite, Mª Lluisa Torrella and Mónica Merino, shared their transversal innovation project, in the workshop they addressed the detection of training needs in the educational community through the analysis of teaching practice, linking it to the exit profile of students and highlighting institutional practice.
This is how we present our project
During the workshop, examples of common working guidelines were presented and the use of the TeachersPRO virtual environment, a tool for the development of teaching competencies for educational innovation, was demonstrated. This platform, developed by the Escalae Institute, fosters collaboration and digital professional learning for quality education in the classroom.
Experience with TeachersPRO
The Escalae Institute has been supporting sustainable pedagogical innovation at Escola Sopeña in Barcelona for the past 3 years. Each phase of this accompaniment is designed to promote continuous improvement in the educational processes of the educational community, strengthening the pedagogical foundation and fostering collaborative learning among education professionals.
Some of the activities
developed so far include:
- Conduct a pedagogical self-diagnosis to determine the degree of progress in the educational transformation process.
- Implement the strategic plan for pedagogical innovation in the educational community (PEIP).
- Begin the implementation of the common work guideline (PTC1) in each of its two campuses, on formative assessment and on learning spaces.
- Design the new common working guideline on technology in education (PTC2).
- Follow-up sessions / accompaniment to directors and faculty throughout the course for the implementation of these methodological agreements in the classroom.
